La Ruta  © Rahi Rezvani, NDT 1 Gabriela Carrizo and Frank Chartier, founders of the Peeping Tom dance company, have been working separately again for the past two seasons, following Kind in 2019, which they created together long after A louer in 2011. In 2022, Carrizo created her second choreography, La Ruta , with NDT 1 dancers. In 2023 Chartier created a piece for the duo's own company, S 62° 58', W 60° 39' .  La Ruta was on NDT 1's programme in 2022-23 and the current 2023-24 season, while S 62° 58', W 60° 39' continues its world tour. For those familiar with the work of Peeping Tom, neither Carrizo's La Ruta nor Chartier's S 62° 58', W 60° 39' begins surprisingly or unexpectedly. The Schöne Aussicht (Bright View) International Theater Festival, which appeals to young people and children, but most of all to those who still feel young and have a child spirit, ended last Sunday (June, 13), but the recordings of the performances can be watched until the end of June. One of the four shows of the festival was the production of Compagnie Bakelite from France called Envahisseurs (Invaders). It was Olivier Rannou, who both created and staged it, which is one of the qualified examples of object theater. Its subtitle, “Theatre with Unknown Objects”, contains a pleasant humor about both its content and form and the show itself. On one hand, it refers to the "unknown" state of the invading aliens, and on the other hand, it mocks the "known" state of all the objects used in the show, which we are familiar from our daily lives. Last September I was in Lyon to attend Moeder (Mother) , the 2016 dated creation of Belgian dance company Peeping Tom, with whom the loyal followers of Art Unlimited are already familiar from my article published on the 38th issue (September-October 2016) and, to make an interview with its creator Gabriela Carrizo (1970). Moeder is the second part of a trilogy that opened with Vader (Father) in 2014, directed by Franck Chartier (1967) who is the co-founder of Peeping Tom and the husband of Carrizo.  On a September day which began chilly and got warmer in the afternoon I met with Carrizo at the Maison de la Danse de Lyon (Lyon Dance House). We walked from the backstage door to the front foyer from the outside, since she had an espresso and deservedly would like to smoke. There are numerous doors and a window on the walls. One or two people sitting on the chairs in the empty spaces left in two sides of the décor on the stage. Some of the spotlights are placed in these areas and made a part of the atmosphere that was created on the stage: the ones that watch ‘the scene on the stage’ and we, the audience, who watch both. When we first encounter this stage under a darkish light when the curtain is raised, a light coming on and off from the pee hole of the door facing us is visibly seen; as if there is someone behind the door and looking at us from the hole. As one moves, the light coming behind her/him goes off and reappears, just like when you look at the neighbor’s door when you are outside in the stair land...
